Abstract
There are 43 species of amphibia in Maharashtra State of the 224 species found in India, distributed among six different families as : Icthyophiidae, caecilidae, Bufonidae, Microhyliade, Ranidae and Rhacophoridae. Out of seven genera endemic to the Western Ghats, three are represented in Maharashtra State.
