Abstract
Western Hoolock Gibbon (Bunopithecus hoolock hoolock) is found in Bangladesh, Inida and Mynamar. In India and Bangladesh a total of 94 areas wre recorded as Hoolock Gibbon habitat, of which 14 are in the north-eastern and south-eastern region of Bangladesh and 80 are in northern India. All these areas are severely fragmented because of encroachment, illegal logging and development.
